Rebecca Barber

Rebecca Barber (@becjbarber) is a research fellow at the Asia Pacific Centre for the Responsibility to Protect, and a PhD scholar with the TC Beirne School of Law, University of Queensland. Her research focuses on the role of UN General Assembly in the prevention of, and response to, atrocity crimes. Prior to entering academia she had a career with international humanitarian NGOs, most recently in headquarters-based advocacy roles, and prior to that, in field-based positions, managing human rights and legal assistance programs in humanitarian crises in South Asia, Southeast Asia and Africa.  She is admitted to practice as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria and is a member of the international humanitarian law advisory committee with the Australian Red Cross.
