Colby Galliher

Colby Galliher is a research analyst and project coordinator in the Governance Studies program at the Brookings Institution. Prior to joining Brookings, he worked as a program assistant in the Eurasia Center at the Atlantic Council. He is the co-author of “Restoring Congressional Oversight Authority over the Executive Branch” in Overcoming Trumpery: How to Restore Ethics, the Rule of Law, and Democracy (2022). He has written on topics including judicial politicization, U.S. electoral politics, and  climate-  and  energy-related issues for Slate, CNN, Lawfare, and others. Galliher received his B.A., cum laude, in politics from Bates College in 2018, where his research and senior thesis focused on state-society relations, national identity, and civil conflict.
